Also just as an aside, this is why I have such massively low confidence in @schatz.bsky.social becoming leader and shaking things up in the way I know he thinks he will. I'm sure he just thinks he's smarter and less in the pocket of Wall Street and that's going to fix the party's problems. No way.

To be blunt, none of the senators are aware of how little they know about how to run a communications operation in government. And a bunch of us continually watch them lean on the worst people for advice on how to get better in a way that honors basic values.

The clearest example of this is when he asked questions at the hearings with Zuckerberg. There was a lot of talk because he was young and hip or what have you that he was going to perform a lot better than the old geezers. Instead he talked about emailing in Whatsapp.
