Just listened to Anne Applebaum on this subject. It was indeed a critical error not to realize that a would-be tyrant is WAY more dangerous in *re*ascendancy than he is in any initial but temporary hold on power, and that failure to treat acts of insurrection as the serious threats to the life...

There were a total of 14 days during which DOJ's prosecution of that evil sonofabitch for what happened on 6 Jan 2021 was barred by the infamous OLC memo. Jeffrey Rosen was Acting AG during those 14 days and could surely have overridden it. I believe I understand his instinct to let impeachment..
