Let's be clear, Schumer didn't even bother to make an internally consistent argument. According to Schumer Trump wants the government to shut down, so why the fuck didn't he advocate for a veto proof majority? Because he knows he's lying, he just thinks we're too stupid to notice.

I sometimes think the Democrats are worse than the Repubs in a way. The Republican are fairly up front about who they are and their intent. The Democrats campaign & present themselves as an effective opposition. They're not.

Yes. Those have been my thoughts for years. The R’s create, maintain, and enforce party discipline, while the D’s have always been plagued by lack of vision, endless schisms, and most of all by a maddeningly frustrating inconstancy. 🀬

The cynic in me says that the majority of Dems wanted to vote yes, but they decided on ten so the rest of the spineless dems can pretend to be against it. That 2 last term senators voted for it increases my belief in this, because they can be thrown under the bus without any political consequences.
