I think the superhero movie boom is finally over. These movies will still be made; some will be good, some will make a lot of money. But studios and theaters have to stop counting on them in any real way. www.thebulwark.com/p/the-end-of...

Maybe if we are lucky Star wars will give us a Dr. Aphra movie, or even better a series.
Reality: This movie is a 3/4-billion dollar industry. You: Meh.
I’d hoped it would end much sooner than this. Felt the same way about the Vampire craze. I truly hope this is over.
So besides horror, what else do we have Sonny? WHAT OTHER KINDS OF MOVIES DO WE HAVE?
I still don't get why that boom ever happened like it did, and why nobody seems tired of horror. I like horror, but I don't need to a new one every month.
Counterpoint: the entire movie business should be more like horror: numerous low-to-mid-budget films, take chances on new actors and directors. Some will make good money, together they could make a few hundred millions a year. Instead of betting the entire house on a handful of expensive tentpoles.
I agree, but that’s not a counterpoint to what I said.
*to SEE a new one" i meant.
Horror is interesting because there’s a core that shows up for everything theatrically but it’s not big enough to make streaming services into horror. It’s the last pure theatrical play.
Superman was a bad film. It’s really that simple. You can have a great superman and Lois lane BUT if the film is rubbish it’s all for naught.
Superman was a 10. Why you feel the need to lie about it, nobody cares.
It was a 5 at best. Hence it’s underperforming at the BO outside of the states. You care otherwise you wouldn’t have jumped in. See.
Wow...that's the first positive review of HONEY DON'T that I've seen (I've not been searching). I disliked DRIVE AWAY DOLLS and the trailer for this one had me hoping it was a little better
Yeah I’m kind of on an island with this one but I dug it! Though, fair warning, I also liked DOLLS.
(DOLLS was more self consciously goofy; this is a more straightforward noir. Not without its issues, as I wrote, but definitely more straightforward.)
As a casual Marvel watcher, it got exhausting trying to keep up with these movies. Iron man 1 + 3 and being confused through captain America civil war, was not enough to understand endgame.
It was a movie every six months, and you could watch any of countless short videos explaining them. Do we need to get you a wheelchair?
Some people don’t have time to watch 17 feature length films
