Tbh I think it has more to do with the blackmail he has on them then its being scared of being called names… Big shift in 2016 when most of the GOP was against him until he started publicly threatening to release info on them & now those are his most ardent defenders
I have no proof of this, but it's what I've always suspected.
I mean Senator rickets is the perfect example. Him and his family were adherently against him (including funding opposition) only for him to tweet "better behave or your family secrets go out" and immediately over night they did a 180 to massive supporters. Similar with Cruz & McConnol
Oh yeah, there are lots of factors. They also want to ride his coattails to power and fame, their names will be tied to his in history (and infamy).

I'm not sure about this 2016 thing, it seems Trump has total authoritarian tendencies.His election has turned out to be a much worse thing .....
