Wells next the sea?
Wells next the sea?
I haven’t listened to the news for 2 weeks sadly including not listening to you. The news is so depressing and scary right now. Nothing personal
Our usual view from above Cresswell beach in Northumberland, a favourite spot for Patch too.
Always good to get out in nature
Norfolk?
Keeping an eye out for small boats 🤣 I know someone who has fisher price binoculars.
Wells James?
Nice blue sky
Whoft? or maybe Molford St Malcolm
Agree, it’s really hard to pull yourself away from the illness of Trumpitise
Dee estuary,Neston in Cheshire. When news gets bad,I am lucky enough to be able to get here every day.
Stiffkey??
Desolate.
Burnham Overy Staithe?
🎯
Glorious, especially on a sunny day like today. Bramble loved her first trip there last year. Enjoy!
Got to be Norfolk. Maybe Blakeney? Or Wells? Haven't been for a few years but we love it
Pretty much.
Lovely day to bury one’s head in the sand for a few hours.
Where is this? It's beautiful
marblearchcaves.co.uk/attractions/...
Fermanagh. It is very peaceful
I must see this for myself, in person. It's amazing
You would be very welcome. The locals are lovely. Lots of great walks in the area. Just wrap up. Even when its sunny its about to rain.
This sounds encouraging
If you like outdoors its an amazing place. Lots to do in and around the Loughs.
I love outdoors. I live in the stix already. But those views....
Then its perfect. I lived in large towns and cities for most of my life. Never going back. Newcastle in Co Down is also worth a visit but a far more challenging hike.
Somewhere in Norfolk ? Beautiful
Walberswick
North Norfolk coast is lovely, but it’ll never beat the north Northern Ireland coast.
It's well worth getting away from the news, and more so, social media. The anguished wailing that permeates this place is doing my head in. I dread to think what it's doing to those folk who are on here 18 hours a day.
North Norfolk? Blakeney / Cley way?
Burnham Overy Staithe ♥️ one of my favourite places in the whole world.
are you shelling for Lion bar's? 😖
Big sky. Wells-next-the-Sea I speculate, and good weather.
Wells next to the Sea
Norfolk?
Burnham Overy?
Looks like Blakeney
Oh yes, it is Blakeney
No, def not Blakeney. Lisa says Burnham Overy Staithe
Yeah Lisa’s right. Should’ve stuck to my guns.
You were right first time!
Damn. Knew it!
Apologies. These salt marshes just seem to blur into one.
They do. They are glorious though.
My mother's family originally came from Burnham Thorpe and Burnham Overy. (Note they were poor agricultural labourers and fishers - not a Chelsea tractor in sight then.) I think I should get the board game for that.
Darn, only just seen this! Recognised Burnham Overy straight away. So beautiful and calming there. Big skies are much needed right now.
James O’Brien. I couldn’t agree more. Had a tough week personally and the power of apricity to transfer your mood is often forgotten during the long, dark winter months.
I used to do it occasionally too. Now I just dip into the news every week, in case I need to buy in extra tinned goods, - soak up the place I am. Not that hard to look away from the fall of America...
“One day Lad, all this’ll be brown”.
What, the curtains.
Listen Alice
“Oh go an’ get a glass of water”.
Beautiful and therapeutic, thank you
Thank you
I never knew Brentford was so pretty.
Always welcome in lincoln to see our great Cathedral again. Just up road.
What a beautiful day today is. For the first time in a long time, I haven't looked at the news today. Back on social media now the light is fading. I hope you've had a trouble free day today.
Blakeney?
Agreed. We got out and about with nature today, woodland, lakes and plenty of sunshine. Much needed
Oh, yes! Thankyou….
My daughter and son in law booked a beach hut at Wells for the day. It was -2 outside when they told me, and I politely declined the invite to join them. Feel a bit of a chump today!
So close!
Brancaster Staithe?
Burnham Overy ⛵
Is it? Knew I'd been there just not sure where along that coast.
Looking again that's the golfcourse clubhouse at Brancaster in the background.
I hope so. I've been there since 1973.
I knew I recognised the area. Lovely part of the world. We regularly stayed in Brancaster Staithe before we moved from Essex to Wiltshire.
Closest wins the board game ? Make my day !!!!
With his money he could afford Suffolk and not slum it
Harsh !
Fair
Me, you or both ?
To what i said
The Norf /Suff wars Still fighting to this day. Seriously under-reported.
Indeed. Is the river Waveney still mined ?
I live in Hertfordshire. No idea why anybody who can afford it would choose Norfolk over Suffolk
Suffolker here… couldn’t agree more ! I love Norfolk but Suffolk always wins in my book (except for Ipswich)
Ipswich is a marvellous place
Haha, my family’s from Ipswich, but it has always been a tradition to be rude about it. Apols for any offence! 😂
Norfolk. Suffolk Matter. Anti matter 💥
Norfolk is awful
😆
Wonderful place.
I'm in the garden trying to start lawnmower!
Trying to cross the Thames on foot?
My favourite place in the UK, and the best tonic for troubled times…
Tide’s out on Brentford Lock
That's Brancaster Staithe I believe
Wells next the Sea, I’m there in three weeks 😀
❤️
Check this out next time you're in Scotland 🏴 😁 bsky.app/profile/byli...
Bit of amazing beauty and social history rolled together. @nationaltrust.bsky.social #HardwickHall
Trying my hardest.
Hunstanton. Calm and peaceful ✌️
I find it is almost impossible to be angry at the state of the world whilst simultaneously looking at a picture of a cute puppy!
Sorry, you do you, but a muddy estuary, that almost certainly smells of poo (even sovereign poo!), and rotting fish (even Happy British Fish)... just doesn't do it for me James.
My view, keeps me grounded, sometimes.. While it feels like the rest of the world is going to go up in flames.
But don't go swimming James - you can't actually see E-Coli!!!
Narf Narferk?
Indeed - the news is just another show. Someone's choice, someone's point of view. Trouble is, it matters.
Wells-next-to-the-sea.
And yet ironically it's got M R James vibes.
This just in, traces of news discovered on remote shoreline. More on that story when we can find any way to make it relevant to the south east.
Wells? Nice chippy on the front if it is
Trouble is I'm seeing it everywhere. My orange cat being subservient to the Russian blue that visits us most days for the past 7 years.
I share my home with a beautiful orange cat who happily watches the intruder cat eat his food, drink his water, and generally enjoy his life. To be fair the intruder is very cute, and if I didn’t have a cat already … but it’s the way the orange ones are so laid back 🐈🐾
It's true they are.
Yes mate I am off to the the dump then I am walking my beautiful bonkers loving gentle dog
Fabulous hound!
Thank you Kat 😊
Big sky! Perfect for the soul.
You’re in my home town! Not a bad spot
Get a crab sandwich - just don’t ask the loocals which way they voted Brexit and if they like rioting Farage…
Rye?
Alt-text says Norfolk
Wells or Blakeney - one of those North Norfolk seaside villages where the sea is several miles away at times! But it is indeed a perfect early spring day 😍
Thanks, I’ll have a double.
Your not in Kiddy anymore! Unless they have given the forest glades a refurb. Started listening to your pod, excellent work. Handing callers like the guy who was beaten as a kid, with exquisite sensitivity.
That was so moving. Poor guy. Hope he’s ok.
Did Trump take all the water
I hope that's a tide mark on that prick's mini to the left of picture
I've barely watched a news programme since last November. Gradually letting small pieces of news in per day but I'm not doing 4 years of mental torture again like last time albeit that was worse because of Johnson.
the views also make u realise whats worth fighting for and whats not
What a lovely view
Burnham Overy Staithe. My favourite beach in Norfolk 👏
Just over a week ago I had a plan to turn off the news and just listen to music. Failed abysmally, maybe I should try again.
Bur ham?
apple.news/AWqPEi_U6S1G...
The ‘big sky’ appreciation.
It's a key way of not triggering me, James. I've doing a good job of not watching the orange thing since November, but have had a blip with the Ukraine fiasco.
Benfleet?
Our news are the daily lives of others so yeah very hard indeed!
Went for a 7 mile walk with the kids in the Cotswolds to a pub. Granted, not far from both RAF Brize Norton and RAF Fairford, prime targets in any war, but still managed to forget all about it for a few hours. Spring is finally here.
Burnham Overy staithe
Europe’s still got it. A building that the Yanks will never come close to. And I’m not remotely religious.
Yes. It's extraordinary.
Spent the day in the garden digging out brambles. Got a lot done channeling my outrage into something positive. The right eye twitch has almost gone🤪
A little bit/lot more easier for us now. Had the Tories (or Reform!) won last July, I suspect it would be a hell if a lot more difficult.
Wells-next-the-sea? ❤️
Brancaster
Nearly…
Suffolk?
How lovely!!
Burnham Overy :) hope you are visiting The Hero 👍
You should try the beach at Holkham in Norfolk James. Existential bliss within reach of "The Smoke". Only bettered by those on the Isle of Lewis with their turquoise waters, mile upon mile of sand, distant hills & when I was there, 4 others. Have to wrap up though. Don't tell Trump :)
Looks like Mr O'B must have been just around the corner at Brancaster Staith if l'm not mistaken?? If so James, do call in on the beach at Wells too..lovely beach huts & sand dunes + forest walks beside the endless beach!
Hard - but important - to look away from the news at the moment. Granted, it’s easier in some places than others…
Burnham Overy Staithe?
Is that Blakeney?
Boat spotting with your mate?
Hi James just a note as I am busy painting on this gloriously sunny day. I suffer with bad depression witch has been extremely challenging lately but your shows on you tube have given me the best laugh I have had in a long time so thank you and keep doing what you’re doing ❤️
Beautiful if we can keep it that way.
Blakeney?
Southwold? ❤️
We really do live in a beautiful country. Having just returned from a stint in the USA, just breathing fresh clean air again is life affirming. We take ours too much for granted.
Yes. It's just all too depressing at the moment. Here's to saving our sanity as best we can.
The wonderful Nature Reserve at Blakeney Quay?
