Most women find it very hard to manage and maintain weight during menopause. It’s only possible if you eat hardly anything. Maybe just 2 small meals a day. That’s very hard to do. Personally I think it’s better to take action earlier than later when you are too heavy.

I was 13 stone after Covid lockdowns meant that I couldn’t access my normal gym classes. I did what I could at home. Plus I started teaching which is a terribly stressful job. Long commute, tiredness, menopause. I am now just over 10 stone. No symptoms. Coming off it slowly.

I do 4 classes a week to maintain muscle and tone. I’m off alcohol mostly. Drink AF Prosecco. Work part time. No sore feet, no aches and pains. Fitting into old clothes. I don’t have loose skin, wrinkles. Toned much better than I was a year ago. Lost it slowly.

If weight loss jabs can turn off the voice telling you to eat more, is this the same mentality of someone whose life is not in danger because of their weight? People say you need more self control, but is eating to excess a compulsion for some people? If you need it you need it.

The key issue with your argument James, is you think it would take a week to create a nationwide camera system and database for facial recognition. If such a thing existed in the US, Trump would surely have abused it immediately. But it's not in place, and it's an effort that would take years.
