Inexcusable.
Inexcusable.
Surprised?? No
Editorial standards falling way below par now. Time it was overhauled or given up on.
Start with replacing Kuennsberg with Victoria Derbyshire or Emily Maitlis
Is the BBC, led by Tory puppet Tim Davie, deliberately delivering a poor service so people will join the Conservative agenda of removing the licence fee and creating a pay to view broadcaster.
The Reform Broadcasting Corporation is now a national disgrace. Their "news" output is horrendously biased, and their entertainment arm just excretes mindless pap such as Strictly and Mrs Brown in a manner similar to the bread and circuses of the roman empire.
The BBC is clearly struggling to generate its own good quality content. It seems to be far more concerned with giving a platform to people who spout uninformed nonsense.
KaiStephensYT is a disgusting person

It’s unfortunate that on Twitter, people will use the Fort Stewart shooting to fuel their racism even more
Much like Team Labour who blocked women in Glasgow from getting a fair adequate wage compared to their male counterparts. Labour spent £2.5 million at court to stop them. It then cost Scotland when Labour lost power. #PoliticalMemory @mrjamesob.bsky.social
Indeed but not a surprise. And no mention that this happened when Tories were in government There's no disguising their bias, still stuffed full of Tories: Davie, Bruce, Gibb, Kuenssberg, Mason, Robinson & others - this is also why BBC offer a daily dose of Fake Farage, most frequent guest on BBCQT
Off topic but worth pointing out this was the previous Government not the current Government.
Not sure I fully understand the claim that it wasn’t a bbc story, when Peter states (further up the thread) that it was the bbc who requested gov to share the form & it was the bbc who appealed the refusal, to get it released. So how is it not a bbc story & investigative work, from the outset?
Not surprised at all.
I think it’s important to clearly state, this was under the last government. Zahawi, say no more. At least his horses were warm.
I’m trying not to swear ffs.
Fancy standing there as a KC and mounting that as your client’s defence 🙈
Missing the irony. Barefaced or what.
So wrong. Had it done to me once. Pitched a general interest story to a broadsheet. Editor said thanks but not for us. Some days later, they published my story written by a staffer. I’d made the rookie error of providing just a little too much info so they were able to research it themselves.
"It's your BBC"
If someone steals your car and joyrides it though the city.... You don't chuck the car in the sea. You blame the driver.
Great metaphor. The problem is that the BBC was supposed to be separate from government, & Gov't always respected that, even during WW2 - that changed under the Tories. Though I strongly suspect that Thatcher was able to halt BBC action against Savile, as the Royal Charter was up for renewal
It should be run by the people. That is to say a board of people who sit for two years who come industries like teaching, healthcare, entertainment, military etc. Not MPs. No government at all. I'd also like the BBC to stick to reporting facts and listening to experts.
Integrity? Yeah - I heard about that once...
Yet unsurprising
Meanwhile constant ads on their news platforms with the tagline “trust is earned”. 10/10
what happens then a public broadcaster is seen as commercial by the media class oh and tory virus (Gibb, Shah, Robie)
The same with the speaker of the house intervening to stop the release of his emails to friends of Israel.... Can we just see the truth? This is becoming china, at least they can build housing and infrastructure
Why share it in the first place? That's the fundamental error here, not any behaviour by the BBC.
Professional collaboration on a story, to help it reach standards on sources/evidence needed for publication without duplication of effort/time spent? Comparable to police working together on a case. This behaviour from the BBC evidently undermines that. To its own and the public's detriment.
They should have gone to Private Eye. They are quick to give credit where it's due. Including crediting the BBC where appropriate
Well at least everyone knows not to trust Phil Kemp anymore. Not great a great attribute to be known for when you rely on people trusting you with information.
Lazy journalists do this. It is the responsibility of editors to give them firm rules about attribution, and enforce them.
BBC News is a shadow of its former self. It's main role these days is to read Reform press releases and interview secretly funded right-wing think tanks.
It's EVERYTHING !!! Today's sporting news. BBC 'NEWS' ... London buses haven't looked like this for 40 years. Somebody tell them !!! From top to bottom it's clueless.
BBC NEWS is a branch of REFORM. They haven't demonstrated 'balanced' reporting since Boris captured their little hearts. Watch any NEWS broadcast... The Government gets less coverage than Farage. REFORM extremely minor representation in Parliament. Try telling the BBC that. Laura K ... Dear Lord.
