This may be Canada's opportunity to do something serious. Tariffs and trade are not as emotionally evocative as someone abused by officials of another country. That makes it not just a legal issue, but an emotional issue as well.

As a veteran, this makes me sick. Our Coast Guard making an arrest in the territorial waters of Canada is beyond the pale. They endangered this man’s life then gave him to Border Patrol. They have no business detaining any Canadian citizen in Canadian waters.
