Well a centrist liberal simply can’t exist as that’s an oxymoron. However democrats, being the true Conservative Party of the US is letting what’s going on currently happen because it’s also in their best interest, we need a progressive party that isn’t shackled to any corporate interests. Otherwise
the cycle is doomed to continue until the United States loses its entire east and west coasts to being newly founded nations or this giant hunk of land is an unlivable desert

Liberalism in the US is centrism. The liberal demographic isn't "left" its solidly between the far right and the left, it sits closer to the right thanks to decades of moving the Overton window to the right.
