Good because children do not belong where alcohol is being served.

Kids don’t belong in restaurants?
People go to restaurants to eat and maybe have a drink. People go to breweries to drink and maybe have a bite. A restaurant and a brewery are not the same.
Many breweries serve food and the OP simply said “where alcohol is being served”. It’s a safe bet that in any restaurant there is some alcohol at every table.
I should clarify. Where the main point of the establishment is to drink.
I agree with you here. I have kids. I rarely took them out when they were younger…a) because it was stressful. b) usually a gigantic waste of money on the $15 Macn cheese. C) I have too much respect for my fellow man/woman out There were times when my kids were awesome. Other times f*ckin tornadoes
We lost a lot of common sense and gained a shit ton of entitlement during Covid. We stopped caring about each other and were either guarded or looking for confrontation. Maybe I’m just old now. Kids can be volatile, but they need training and life experience too. I feel for parents. It’s tricky.
Thanks for a reasoned, thoughtful reply. I agree, it's tricky! And kids do need to be out in the world to learn/grow. But not every place is suitable/safe for kids, we can agree. I don't think it's safe for children to be in a place meant for adults to drink. But I guess that makes some folks angry.
Geez…I hadn’t really seen the comments. I just read the headline and scrolled down a bit. Yikes. Yep…a microcosm of what we’ve become. Combative, reactive and short fused. Be well. I’m out 👊🏼
Yeah…we all need to decompress. Breweries are GREAT for that! It’s a tweener space. I think they intended to make it safe for responsible families. It’s not quite a bar & not quite a restaurant. I have felt so bad for waitstaff cleaning up after kids laid waste to a table & floor…it’s embarrassing
In the end it IS DEFINITELY an adult space and should be respected as such.
Well then breweries should stop making such good food Look I have a couple breweries in walking distance and I go to get food and like one beer and sometimes play trivia. They have patios and board/video games and close at 8-11 pm depending on the day. It’s a fine place to bring kids
I hear you and thank you for sharing. Not everyone goes to a brewery and shows the restraint that you do, though. Most people go to breweries to drink, and some of those get drunk. I don't think it's desirable for children to be around drunk adults in a business built primarily around selling beer.
I think desirable for kids to watch adults purchasing and consuming one or even a couple bottles of beer
Oh. I see. Why? Strangers, even? Why is that desirable?
I think it’s fine for kids to see strangers and people drinking beer and even strangers drinking beer. Beer is not the end of the world. There are drunk people out in the world too, idk what to tell you. Keep an eye on the kids, all will be fine. Godspeed
Actually, in a lot of places, breweries indeed *are* restaurants.
Go back to the farm where you belong.
This is wrong for a few reasons but mostly you're just a prude
