Here is where it gets really ugly. When inflation is widely expected, corporations tend to take advantage of that mindset and raise prices higher than their costs, increasing profits. So not only are costs rising, we will see more price gouging on top of it.

And I’m finding prices for Canadian goods produced in Canada going up the same as American goods for no other reason than corporate greed. We are trying to keep buying Canadian and some Canadian companies will happily screw us over.

It's the same corporate mindset. Loblaws made record profits from the pandemic inflation. No morals, no social responsibility, just maximum profit is all they stand for.
