Smug? I'm from a big family. Lots of mistakes growing up, some of us doing better than others now. But we stick together. Parties are like that. Sure, Democrats blow some things. You want to fix them? Get in there and get your hands dirty. Or do you have a better option? Focus on the real foe.

I want to focus on the real foe. But it's hard when I notice that the party leadership has more fire in the belly to go after, say Zohran Mamdani, one of the GOOD ones (!), than the Trump regime. So yeah, I'm done with centrists who are not up to the moment & just keeping their comfortable seats.

This is a fair criticism. Internecine warfare does not serve Democrats well now, if it ever did. I, like Brian Tyler Cohen, whom I heard say this recently, am for the biggest tent possible. I don't mind robust debate, as long as we realize that we're all on the same team when it counts.

Agreed. I would like to point out that polls show that it's centerist Dems who betray the party when it comes to "vote blue, no matter who," not the progressives. But we always see as the other way around.
