Neither I nor the other person made that claim. You're either not very good at understanding words, or are reading them in bad faith. "Obama had bad deportation policy" is not "Obama and Trump did the exact same thing". Good attempt but fallacies are a shit way to make a point.
Timing matters man. When black people are saying black lives matter, is that a good time to talk about all lives matter? The people are finally rising up against Trump's Ice. You really think this is a good time to compare it to Obama and normalize it?
This is presumably a response to people crying out for Obama, a man who has a bad reputation when it comes to deportation, to make a statement to zero effect. I still dunno if understanding words is difficult for you or if you're just reading in bad faith. I'm leaning towards the latter though.
"I dunno if Obama is a good source of inspiration in regards to deportation talks" is nowhere close to saying "Obama did what Trump is doing". The normalization is in your mind.
