My daughter has coeliac disease. This is the reason why she has only eaten in a restaurant 6 times in the last 16 years. Cross contaminated each and every time.

One of the local Nandos branches does gluten free so well we even get takeaway. But the other branches of the same chain absolutely do not.

The inconsistency is wild. We gave up trying. We used to have an excellent indy chippy locally that did a monthly gluten free night, coinciding with their deep clean. It was amazing, they won awards and had a huge client base. So their landlord doubled the rent and put them out of business! Sigh...

Huge shout out to Smart Fish Bar, Stoke Gifford in Bristol. They have a dedicated GF fryer and a wide range of options. And they seem to take care with the processes to avoid cross contamination, even wrapping separately.
