It boils down to whether you think advances on Abortion/Climate/LGBTQA+/Labor are predicated on a functioning democracy.

You think Liz Cheney is for for all those things because she's pro-democracy?
Do you think Matt Yglesias is against most of those things?
He currently appears to think that several of those things run directly contrary to restoring a functional democracy.
Doesn't "most" imply "not all"?
Is "keep abortion legal (because it's popular)" the defining characteristic of left-wing, to you? Because if so, lmao. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...
Are you comfortable reducing U.S. politics to a series of purity tests? Or can you allow for multiple axes lmao
Is Liz Cheney left wing? Or is "supports abortion" not the only axis defining that term?
Seems to me you're the one supporting purity tests, but from the right-wing point of view. I.E, even though MattY is vocally opposed to most left wing issues, the fact that he supports even one of them automatically makes him left wing because he failed the right wing purity test.
Is Matt Yglesias left wing? Because most of what he supports falls on the left of the US political divide? This is a very difficult question that we need to go in circles over.
He is currently opposed to every single one of the things you listed aside from abortion rights. bsky.app/profile/spla...
