Daughter called me. At 4am one of her dogs took off barking in the house. Checks her doorbell camera. A woman trying door to see if it was open. Tried lots of doors in the complex. Man & woman. Called her neighbour. Yup she's got footage also. Neighbour called cops. Lock your doors. #BurlOn

I don’t understand the naive thinking of people. Lock your door and lock your car doors. Do not make it easy for thieves. It is not 1950.
I've heard people say to take valuables from your car and leave it unlocked, so that the windows won't get smashed. I lock mine.
We never used to lock our doors. Kids, family, neighbors in and out, we never worried. Now the kids are grown and gone, I am often home alone, we have dogs that bark but a man ignored them, tried the car doors and walked towards the front door only stopping when I said, “Stop!” Now all locked 24/7
Is it possible they were fleeing ICE and not letting them in? They get caught and deported??

Ewww, Creepy 😬 I realized this morning we left our door unlocked by accident. Luckily we have 3 cops that live on our dead end street so we don’t have many issues.
I know I live in the sticks because I don't lock my doors to prevent people from coming in, I do it to stop the bears from opening the door at night. 😅

Farmstead here with bulk fuel. Dogs started barking in middle of night. Checked yard and someone was fueling his car from the bulk tank. He left quickly when I turned on yard lights and I had to go out and turn pump off since he didn't bother.
It’s happening in nice neighbourhoods in Vancouver. I blame the series “Your Friends and Neighbors” where John Hamm just walks into unlocked homes and steals good stuff!

In my building about 6 months ago, a young woman would walk floor to floor with a Tim's tray with a coffee in it & a bag, as though there was a donut or whatever. She'd check apt doors to see if they were unlocked. If someone was home, she'd apologize & say she walked into the wrong apt.They got her
I heard that from a couple people in London too, with camera footage of front door being tried. Too bad it has come to this.

Thank God your daughter is safe. It's scary and unsettling. Her neighbour is a good one to help her call the police I read / listen / watch crime stories / history so much that I learn that several murders done by (serial) killers just because they found unlock doors / windows Please be safe 🙏
The woman had tried her neighbors door also. It is a townhouse complex (no garages). One other neighbor had footage from their camera.
