Potentially, but you’re getting into things that can’t be proven. I think it’s fair to evaluate a trade after the fact but I also think the value at the time is as or more important. Anyone can be brilliant with hindsight.
Sure, I'm not saying that anyone is to blame, sometimes things just happen. But objectively, the trade has been a failure, even if the assets given up have also failed. It's just a frustrating outcome, especially since this team needs to win on the margins to compete.
I wouldn’t agree it’s been a failure. It hasn’t been a good deal, but it hasn’t particularly hurt anything either. This is exactly what I wrote about today. There’s gray area and this deal is absolutely in it.
