As bad as this is, surely it should be "claims"

I think 'claims' is implicit in 'says'. Had it been 'reveals', then there'd be cause for concern. But it didn't. So there ain't. I get the BBC needs reforming, but there are times we can sound like the far-right in our nitpicking, the only people who would benefit if we lost the BBC altogether.

Two former GB "News" executives who are now senior BBC Director's with brief's covering News. GBeebies presenters regularly brought in to appear on BBC programmes. Yeah John, I would say the far right are running BBC News and don't forget they have their fingers in OFCOM too.

"The 42-year-old wife of a Tory councillor had called for people to "set fire" to hotels housing asylum seekers in the wake of the Southport attack in July 2024."

The wild thing is that this actually what the Beeb is presenting as *Northamptonshire* news. I mean can’t they find a village fete somewhere near Daventry to report on?
