If so, that's rad! I know many places offer hybrids for substantially cheaper than a completely "pure" pedigree (not inplying that's exactly what you had) since that improves access sans the steep price tag. That's a real neat animal to look after, lucky!

I'm in France, they're not that uncommon here. You can see on this (very expensive) website their price in comparison with other breeds, they're just a few euros more. www.fermedebeaumont.com/poules-de-ra...

Also, I like how much info the site has on integrating and raising the chickens, particularly (in the Ayam Cemani) keeping them inside and away from others to keep down aggression and anxiety, and proper feeding as it grows!

They have a ton of breeds on that site, incredible! And yes, the Ayam Cemani are far less expensive than I expected. Fun fact, the "Brahma" chickens, with the feathery legs? The scaly legs we think of for bird legs are modified featuers. Feathered legs is an older genetic structure!
