I presume part of it is a distorted sense of what skills are needed by corporate America. I gather for some administrations that's all that matters.
No joke, my centrist husband was like "Well, maybe these were unimportant programs that weren't well regarded or something." I don't know what to do with that level of ignorance and misunderstanding in my own household, let alone in the broader population. We may be doomed.
