Admittedly I don’t know much about British politics however, when this was all taking place, I knew it was a bad idea.

Is there anything they don't hate. I bet some of them even hate their own shadow - 'cos its black innit.

Brexiteers hated everything before and they hate everything now. Basically they're just full of hate, same as they're full of sh!t.

Brexiteers hate. That's it. That's all that needed to be said. It was & is entirely predicated on what they hate. It's an utterly negative & destructive world view. It makes nothing. It just hates.

I don’t normally respond like this but it turns my stomach to see the Union flag stamped over the Republic. Brexiters haven’t created THAT world yet, if indeed they ever will.

For sure, some Brexiters were ignorant of Ireland’s independence, or thought it unreal, at least until the Joint Report in December 2017 demonstrated that the EU would place Ireland’s interests in the top three issues to be negotiated in the UK’s withdrawal. /2

Other Brexiters acknowledged Ireland’s independence but assumed, deeply foolishly, that it would follow the UK out of the EU, and perhaps join a UK-led customs union. /3

None of this has come to pass. But the graphic suggests it has. Brexit has not in fact caused fractures to Irish politics on anything remotely like the scale of what has happened, and continues to happen, in the UK. /end.
