No Birthday cards? Christmas cards?
No Birthday cards? Christmas cards?
Not really. The amount of post has dropped with 90% over the last decade and I don’t know anyone who still sends Christmas cards and birthday cards have never really beed a thing. But the main question is how much money the state should subsidise sending of seasonal greeting cards cards.
Yeah I'm old & old fashioned. I guess in the future, if AI doesn't render us obsolete we will evolve into either the eloi or the morlocks.
Oh, and btw. You might be old and old fashioned but not more luddite that you are active on one of the newer social media.
Well…. In Denmark there is a government owned e-mail system called e-boks which obviously government used for all letters and messages from them (tax, benefit, permissions etc) but other organisations can also use it for eg. payslips, insurance documents, and stuff. And that type of 1/n
communication obviously was the bulk of the service that the mail delivered. Then obviously (mobile) phones reduced the need for private letters and left, I guess is the random Christmas cards and holiday postcards. There will still be a service but just not subsidised. 2/2
As an appendix I do feel a tad of sadness for an over 400 year old service, but that is unfortunately the way if we want to be able to pay for other stuff.
