William Notman photographed a number of Confederate agents during the Civil War including Commander GT Sinclair. In June 1862 Sinclair was sent from Nassau to Liverpool with an important dispatch from Raphael Semmes to Commander James D Bulloch, the top Confederate agent in Britain. #navalhistory
