I like the idea of urushiol. Capsaicin can't be absorbed throgh the skin and odds are fairly low that the eyes would be rubbed after contact. Urushiol is the oil in sap; unless they have ready access to a wash station, maybe they'll think twice before making such "rash" decisions.
