I would agree that utilizing the Midterms is the best, least violent route to altering our current trajectory; however, what if Republicans suspend the election in 2026? If they have the political will to pass the 'Big Ugly' what's to stop them from canceling the Midterms?
Passing a horrible bill is one thing, cancelling an election would be the end of the country. That's a different situation. As bad as they are, i don't think they'll resort to that.
They aren’t gonna get away with trying to cancel an election. And come to midterms, they are going to lose the house and Senate because of their diabolical behavior. Not to mention Elon Musk’s new political party. That is going to divide the Republicans, and have very little impact on Democrats.
We've already had a mayor cancel an election. I suspect this was a test case. Expect more.

True enough. The impossible doesn’t seem to be the impossible anymore. BUT, that works both ways. Also, following the rules works both ways. People are only going to tolerate watching some people breaking the rules for so long, before they start breaking the rules themselves.

I hope that you're correct; however, if the 2024 election has taught us anything it's that the improbable has become the possible. Time will tell the tale. I'm going to prepare my 'go bag' just in case.
