Idk there was no money for education or anything. I mean yeah it's the people in power but everyone else can't afford to leave even if they wanted to.

There's money; where the ppl at the top choose to spend it and which industries get to come to MS to play ball is the issue. The #1 state lobby after Agri is Real Estate. The same ppl who run Agri own the land. It's old plantation money. And the feds subsidize them. They ain't giving that up.
