I had to pause the moment she referenced Melville's Bartleby the Scrivener. I was forced to read it as a Sophomore in HS and loathed it, excruciatingly boring. 4 years later, I was forced to read it again. I couldn't believe it. Funny thing- I got it. I related to him-even wrote a poem.
