Between Trump and this, everyone's about to understand in a real way the difference between a Presidency that's trying, albeit not well, to get a ceasefire and a Presidency that is actively complicit in genocide

The Biden administration was making great headway— the talking point that intimidates they were not doing it well is unsupported by records of their very intense and nuanced negotiations. Trump is very simply throwing the chessboard over. There is absolutely no comparison.

There is just no way a vote for Kamala could have been worse for Gaza than this. On which note I will say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago; the next best time is now. We can still work together to fight the clear and present danger happening today. It's brawling time🥊

What other choice do we have? It's existential. Time will pass regardless of whether or not we do anything. Leftist Logician (she/her) @leftistlogician.bsky.social

As someone who genuinely cares about Gaza and agrees Israel is wrong, I simply cannot understand why people blame Harris or Biden for the matter. This is Israel and Hamas' and theirs alone war to end, for one. For two, Republicans not only would but provably *did* block attempts to stop weapons.

feb 12, 2025, 4:10 am • 0 0 • view
avatar
Leftist Logician (she/her) @leftistlogician.bsky.social

For three, regardless of whether you think the aid or ceasefires were sufficient, Biden did at least *try* to do them while Republicans never showed a single shred of interest in either. Finally, if we did cut off Israel they would simply go buy somewhere else; plenty of mercenaries on the planet.

feb 12, 2025, 4:10 am • 1 0 • view
avatar
Leftist Logician (she/her) @leftistlogician.bsky.social

Basically there is nothing Biden could unilaterally do to end things and Trump certainly would not improve things. So there is no logical reason for anyone legitimately caring about Gaza to not vote for Harris. Sometimes you need to accept you don't have a lever you personally can pull on a topic.
