I went to a Bananas game last year. Parts of it were fun, but the overwhelming vibe was "we need to keep distracting the fans, otherwise they'll realize baseball is boring".

Except the Rockies, right?
I mean, the mascot gets to run around and deal with fans. The Bananas are just an entire team of mascots
Opening stadiums early is good though and more teams should do it
I’ve wanted some sort of Rockies experience at Target Field, someone has to explain to me why they can’t. Also, I seem to remember seeing more batting practice as a kid in the ‘60s & ‘70s, sincerely wondering when that all changed & why. Assume players do more controlled work out of sight now.
Idk, as someone who lives in Denver be careful asking for a "Rockies experience"
Shoulda been more precise: pre-game & attendance. Just sounds more fun there than here, but obviously not the actual on-field action.
You could open the gates for batting practice earlier tho
Like it’s fine to be the Harlem Globetrotters. But it’s a fundamentally different product than what the NBA is selling.
Besides there are and always have been ample opportunities for determined fans to holler enthusiastically at players on the field before the game! Organically!
