Call me crazy but I don’t think we should be burning American flags in protest of Trump’s EO. This isn’t a “it’s a trap” thing, I just think people who don’t know about the EO, which is most of them, aren’t going to respond well to that.

That's why bring a bullhorn to say what you're doing & why. The way the EO is written is childish. They're going to prosecute for whatever they can drum up ancillary to burning the flag, while pretending it's not first amendment suppression. Fuck 'em. Burn it on a grill, don't scorch gov't pavement.

I think overall the best thing we can be right now is normal, especially when we think about how to protest. Our opponents are caught in an endless cycle of escalation that’s alienating people, don’t decide now is the time to also escalate.

Honestly now is probably the best time to be embracing the standard, actual American flag. Maybe a good time to burn the weird new black ones with the blue lines and skulls on them.
