Actually the US has had these camps for years in many other states. But no one cared enough before to pay attention.

Biden did close some private immigration facilities. Under Biden, Immigrants were held pending due process. Today, facilities hold Dreamers, people in current LEGAL immigration proceedings, legal residents, asylum seekers, & even visa holders, deporting without due process. There’s a difference.

That wasn’t what I said. My comment was regarding the claim that Florida has the US’s first concentration camp. Japanese people were held in camps during WWII. There was also a well known camp in Arizona where the people were all forced to wear pink underwear. Yes it’s all bad. But we need facts.

I would recommend anyone follow @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social he talks about the immigration system daily. And talks about how it’s ALWAYS been a bad, broken system. We just weren’t paying attention. Immigrants being treated poorly isn’t new, it’s just more extreme now and more visible.
