Yeah, you don’t pay that much to care for people you consider the scum of the earth. If they’re not going to give you due process, they’re not going to pay thousands to house each prisoner.
Isn't this how we treated prisoners during the Iraq war? There were people held at Guantanamo long-term, without due process, because someone accused them of something. And the torture with dogs and electric shock at Abu Ghraib prison. I wonder how many people remember and acknowledge that.
It was all shameful, no doubt. I remember. There was some level of accountability eventually and wasn’t Abu Ghraib closed? This is even worse, because it is not a war situation. And there’s an admitted error without any attempt to remedy it. Their only regret is that they admitted it.
As Nayib Bukele spoke about space issues he seemed to say he had endless capacity. That only works if inmates leave.
