That is my point - we see what we see (or more precisely, get shown). It doesn't reflect society as a whole. When you look at British Social Attitudes survey for example, 13% of those surveyed had consistently negative views about immigration, Black people and Muslims. natcen.ac.uk/publications...

Sorry, I disagree. The level of resentment is growing, and media reports it. It does not drjveit. just listen to the sky report now Getting 110000 to a march, that wasn't publicised by bbc or sky reflects the underlying issues seen by many. Ignore it at your peril

While I agree that is still a proportion that needs to be noted and taken seriously, it does not deserve being portrayed as equal to the prevailing view.
