I used to live in the PNW and still get The Seattle Times digitally. I was just coming here to share this. I could not believe how furious I felt. This is an act of depravity. Call your reps. Those men were risking their lives to safeguard their communities. Fuck this regime & everyone in it.
what’re your reps going to do about it
Their job is to represent their constituents. Let them know what you want them to do about it. I don’t have any political power in Wa. State but they do. Tell them to use their power to track the people who were kidnapped from their families. Follow where they are taken. Make sure they are given due
process. Make sure they are not disappeared. Amplify the voices of their families. Make sure their names are known and make these men heroes in their communities. They cannot be disappeared.
Thankfully WA is run by Dems who will at least make motions to protect these men. I feel like every day I discover new depths of hatred for not even that fuckhead Trump so much as everyone that is kowtowing to him and following his orders.
Reps can go into detention centers & ensure their health, safety & their conditions. I just keep thinking about the people I served in the PNW who are immigrants or refugees and how vulnerable there are & how courageous they were to trust that the US would be decent & fair. My heart is breaking.
dem lawmakers have consistently shown they’re at best, either powerless or unable to do anything and at worst complicit. nobody’s coming to save us, we all have to learn to take care of ourselves and each other
