Probably because impeachment and removal is unfeasible given the make up of congress and even if not it would take months, if not years, to achieve. Whereas firing (which many Dems have advocated) would be immediate and more appropriate given the situation (ie lives being on the line).

I would argue that focusing on feasibility/probable lack of success in order to abandon the attempt is short-sighted at best. The ground needs to be prepared & fertilized, then seeds planted & nurtured to bear fruit. Many goals seemed to be impossible until with preparation, they became possible.

Dems can only "call for" RFK Jr to be fired. However they can introduce actual articles of impeachment. They should use every tool they have, regardless of whether it succeeds or doesn't. They shouldn't disarm, is what I'm saying. (& I don't think OP was arguing that.)

I called my congressperson yesterday to yell about this. Impeach and have a fight. They may not actual succeed but it seems like a worthwhile fight! These freaks (MAGA/MAHA) sure seem like they want to kill us, so I’m not really seeing the downside here.

Dems are failing to do the basics by not calling for impeachment of cabinet officials like RFK Jr and others. And just in case there is any doubt (or lack of basic understanding) that the House of Reps. have the authority to impeach cabinet officials - and that Dems can call for it.

It’s notable Republicans controlled the House when they impeached Mayorkas. It’s also notable Mayorkas remained through to the end of Biden’s term despite the impeachment. Demanding Kennedy’s firing and creating enough public pressure might actually get him tf out of there.

It's not one or the other. Calling for firing should be basic (Dems like DeLauro has done that). But, this is about ratcheting up pressure in media and calling for impeachment hearings on RFK Jr should be coming from Dems in safe blue seats.
