We're not allowed to strike, by law. Also, today is a paid holiday anyway.
"what if we roll over and show our soft little bellies and beg to keep the government that we keep saying is super dangerous open? Would the voters like that????"
It all depends on who this *one* aide is that Politico is quoting. I generally don’t waste a whole lot of energy or angst on whatever they report, considering their standard POV.
We have been thru this before. Just look at the top spots in bsky.app/profile/numb...
You'd think Schumer would feel some embarrassment at his prominence there, but apparently he feels proud.
Why does anyone pretend that Rachael Bade is anything other than a Republican apologist?
She might be correct that this is the view of the Democratic Party leadership, but she has every incentive to spread "Dems in disarray" stories.
Right, I believe the quote could be real but it's far more likely she made it up
“We can never get anything out of them anyway!” Yeah because they know you’ll roll over no matter what so why the fuck would they give you shit?
If congressional dems cannot massage and mobilize on the basic concept that a regime which has masked, unmarked feds kidnapping people off our streets and sicing army into our cities - shouldn’t be getting blank checks - they should be primaried out of politics.
Exactly. And every one of them taking AIPAC money must go. EVERY ONE OF THEM. Taking that money is despicable & makes them no better than Rs. DESPICABLE
Let’s try this again, Ken Martin, Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. If Chuck makes any noise about giving in (again!), put him in a locked office on the Hill — along with Dick Durbin and Amy Klobuchar — with zero access to a phone. Let Booker lead the Senate vote. Be united in purpose.
Hand the keys to Liz Warren and let's get some shit done.
Absolutely- shut it down or get significant changes
Bring this whole lawless regime to an end. 🔥
What if the problem is that a near majority want the authoritarian outcome? Your solution might make things worse.
If you were truly intent at battling Fascism--you would be working as a team to implement effective solutions rather than scoffing from the sidelines. From the sidelines--you're just sharpening your knives, leering at prey--waiting to do a future coup.
But the thing is--calling out problems doesn't suffice as a qualification for fixing them effectively. So...
If you want to fix them--you need teamwork. But something tells me you have no interest in fixing problems
Something tells me we're not actually on the same team as these electeds.
Something tells me a ton of leftists aren't on the same team as the people fighting Fascism.
Can you elaborate regarding your belief tbh at Trump would shut down any part of the government he cares about, or would adhere to a strict interpretation of the anti-deficiency act as per norms Do you believe that Trump adheres to norms, and if so, what is the source of that belief
