this is what ive been saying! Affluenza is a disease. Covid recession in no way compares to 2008, so we’ve had two decades of people forgetting what’s that like. The next will hopefully temper their hubris

Even 2008 only impacted those of us who actually did lose our jobs - most didn't - and of course the elderly racists who are their core voters were and are largely insulated from mere recession by no longer having jobs to lose or mortgages that they can't pay.

And even in Germany it was not the 6 million unemployed who voted for the Nazis but largely the middle classes who still had jobs or pensions or profits.
