We had a family of Pilated Sapsuckers, some hummingbirds, a red-tailed falcon & an army of finches & robins on our property at the same time the other day - it was the first good rain all summer & they all came out. A few weeks ago, we woke up to this specimen on our fence.

A barred owl. What a pleasant surprise that had to be!

We have a mated pair - and we hear them so often, but seeing them is always special, especially in the front yard.

We’ve started leaving a pair of binoculars out - apparently we’ve reached the age where we are going to become birdwatchers. 😉 One day you’re young & cool, and the next you’re asking, “What kind of bird is that”! 😂
