Hard agree. The pacing accelerated madly over those last couple of seasons, but the characters -to me at least- stayed consistent.
My only major-major complaint was that the resolution of the throne situation makes no sense. Where is this story bullshit coming from in a world that has time-and-again gone for the more "realistic" approach to stuff.
