be as NT as possible because that’s what’s comfortable and expected. Existing is hard for everyone, and certainly not the exclusive territory of ND folks. In my experience it’s just been exhausting to try and figure out who I am, or how I might like to exist, bc that’s uncomfortable for others.

it's also hard when you're dealing with strangers or people in some authority, i'm sure. that's where i realized the difference between my folks and myself are biggest, i can go somewhere and basically know my natural self will be fine while they don't have that social reassurance i've had.

overall, i like to think it takes some commitment by both/all parties involved to try to be mutually understanding of each other, which not enough folks do period. Culture kind of sucks so we end up blaming each other for not taking the effort to understand someone else.

And i do agree, the burden is way heavier on the ND folks because of all that extra noise. It takes more patience from your NT counterparts, which we don't always offer as much as we should.
