What’s the major malfunction here? I’m not suggesting “banning words”, I’m just suggesting we follow the advice of Orwell when he said: “Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent.”

So what's the everyday English equivalent of "heteronormative"? Or LGBTQIA? I think most people can probably figure out what "food insecurity" or "the unhoused" means, actually. No more, "joie de vivre", "creme de la creme" or "deja vu". I'm sure Trump would love us to stop saying "quid pro quo".

"unhoused" upsets people because it humanises them

I love Orwell, he was a committed Socialist who fought alongside Anarchists and dobbed Tankies in to the cops, because fuck those guys, but his brain seriously melted in his later years

I think he might have developed schizophrenia or something, idk if he turned into a reactionary or not, i doubt it, but he was kind of a crank
