yeah, I mean, I think that's a class issue too, though, right? a lot of those people are wealthy, come from wealth, and will die wealthy. like, they are unable to see how their biases contribute to anything and aren't incentivized to discover it.

You and I are not talking about the same people. Yes, journalism can be a rich kid's sport for sure; that's very true. However, there are more (or at least in the timeframe I'm referring to, *were*) of journos who *only* knew newsroom culture and nothing else.
