This is a tactical, as well as moral, error. Musk is spectacularly unpopular in the UK. There's a chance to take the patriotic high-ground, calling out foreign billionaires stoking up violence in Britain, without being seen to dismiss "ordinary people". And you can challenge Reform to back you.

If Musk goes too far he could be charged with Sedition against the UK State. UK Sedition laws still apply to non-UK citizens engaging in seditious acts against the UK State. An UK criminal conviction could seriously disrupt his business operations in the UK and Europe.

I think he rather misses the point. It’s not primarily about immigration. It’s about an external force opposing British democracy. Musk is not “people”. He is a powerful enemy of the UK.
The problem is that it is a few people’s ‘frustrations’. I don’t believe it is anything like a majority. We’re being governed by people who bend to the loudest voices.

I think that’s right. As a native born American, but one with empathy, I find it horrific & hypocritical that a foreign born citizen would be spreading hate & division in America about immigrants.
The Tories used to excel at identifying cartoon villains, allowing them to attack "loony left" councils or "trade union bosses" without being seen to attack ordinary trade unionists or Labour voters- & which divided Labour itself. Musk will *never* be a friend to Labour. It might as well fight back
