I broke with a long time friend over this. He insisted "both sides are equally bad" and used that to justify not voting at all. I never understood that. "I don't like my choices very much so I'll just voluntarily give up my right to choose at all." Just whyyyy? 😡
It's cool to be cynical? Misguided purity of action? Watch the documentary "Merchants of Doubt" and see how this learned cynicism is promulgated among the population, degrading trust in our institutions. Part of why Finland is the Happiest country is that they trust their institutions.
