Who was the majority leader in the House in 1964? Was that someone involved on the ground with civil rights protests? Can you tell without researching it? I bet you can't.

I'm about your age. I was a Teen for Kennedy knowing NOTHING of his policies really. (It was enough he wasn't Nixon!) Even by 64 I was interested in politics but pretty ignorant of details. I wanted to know large picture stuff. Now the Fifth Column is trying to discredit Dems. No thanks!
I was born at the tail end of '72 but my parents were very politically aware. I had an hour long argument with my parents in the fall of 1980 about how I should be allowed to vote. :) It didn't work. But I know from politics.
I think I mixed you up with someone else my age. Well, I have to agree with your folks that in '80 you needed about 10 years more to vote. But we're grown up now and should be pretty wise to the ways.
Oh, indeed. Even I agree now. Seven year old me, though, would probably dismiss me.
Wouldn't ALL our seven year old selves do that to our adult selves? Why we want little kids to grow up more. Decision making is VERY different then.
