This is insane by Yvette Cooper. Spray-painting planes is not terrorism. Criminal damage, yes - but you cannot “terrorise” inanimate objects. It does not serve to cause terror in victims. Therefore it is not terrorism. The authoritarian Home Secretary has lost the plot.

Terrorism would have involved blowing up the plane. The protesters did the Government a favour by exposing the lack of security at an RAF base

Spray painting doesn't damage the aircraft and doesn't need the aircraft to be taken out of service for repainting. It might be inconvenient to the maintenance staff, but it's not an act of terrorism.

No comment from the Gov on the lack of security at an active airbase which is the main takeaway for most! A little paint is the last of their worries.

Authoritarian indeed. A knee jerk response to poor RAF security. Throwing paint on a plane, that will already have been painted, is at worst criminal damage and at best an artistic & political statement. How about she owns up to U.K. complicity in genocide with sold arms.

It wasn’t just over the bodywork, it was inside the engine. It could have brought the plane down as well as costing £thousands to put right and taking the plane out of use.
