The subject is mental illness, which in the US is a cause of homelessness. My point was to show that universal healthcare addresses mental illness better than a system where health insurance is for profit. Firearms are easy to get in the US.

I understand that but it seems you correlated mental illness with mass killing AND homelessness. It's unfair to infer homelessness - already highly stigmatized - could be mass murders.
I didn't infer that at all. I was responding to someone who made that claim.
Sorry, I misread.
We have the Federal NICS reporting system, which includes records for mental illness, but the system is only as good as the info it contains. One has to have been committed to a mental institution or declared incompetent by a court. Not everyone who has mental illness gets reported for either.
It's the similar here. Mental health services in conservative provinces are sorely inadequate due to cuts & management despite federal funding. Mental illness is so broadly defined though, vast majority of cases dont violently offend others.
the mentally ill are far more likely to be the victims of abuse than the perpetrators. people fear & hate those different than themselves, or those they dont understand.
The funny thing is how many ppl are diagnosed as mentaly ill when other people who might qualify more for the title are the perpetrators. Hospitals won't let you know that, though. Most of those doctors are doped up,themselves! Abuse of medication:not good.Regardless of effectiveness or side effect.
What proof do you offer for this claim? Articles, links?
Yes!
I misread NICS as NCIS. Lol. #Dyslexicsoftheworld...UNTIE!!!!
That's funny. I have discalculia, so I understand completely. I've gotten more addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays mixed up than you can imagine! You made my day. Thank you.
You're welcome. My wife, however, deserves the credit. She initially came up with that. Lol. I've always thought dyscalculia sounded like the name of a vampire in the mold of Dracula. 😅😅😅
