nice article. I was reminded by Carol Frost's article in GSA Today in March describing "the oldest rocks in the United States". I had to remember that the oldest zircon (which I believe is >4Ga) is not the oldest rock....

Thanks! I was lucky that Prof O'Neil who coauthored that 'oldest rocks' paper provided comments for this article. Yes, oldest rock formed on Earth is younger than the oldest mineral formed on Earth, and both of those are younger than meteorites.
