Good post. Please stop dragging Merrick Garlan. I know he could have moved faster/stronger against Trump/MAGA. I cussed him often for that. But it would be just as easy, and maybe more to the pt., to blame Pres. Obama for not defying McConnell & giving MG a recess appt. to SCOTUS in 2016.
I don’t know … considering his timidity as AG, what kind of SC justice might he have been? Doesn’t seem he would’ve been a leader. And 5-4 vs 6-3? Meh.

True. Sadly we’ll never know. But we can’t help but wonder if any wrinkle in time past might have saved us from where we are now, especially from the prime effect of the presidential immunity ruling, Trump completely emboldened. IMO, the most dangerous result of the court-pack.
